Hi, this is Robyn speaking, I’m so glad you’ve taken the time to take a look at my home. If you are considering a stay on Waiheke, I rent her out for a minimum of 4 nights, and below I will describe why I chose this spot above any other on the island:

I’m the type that likes to live in a spot where most if not all, boxes are ticked. My specific boxes are, that I like privacy, but proximity. I don’t like long drives home. As far as Waiheke Island goes, my property fulfils exactly what I find the most appealing – private yet very close to Oneroa, Waiheke’s main village and just a few minutes’ drive from the ferry. I live on 7 acres in a peaceful retreat with jaw-dropping sea views – when visitors first arrive, the views hit you in a continuous wave. No matter how stressed you just were, the view takes care of that heart rate immediately. It’s always lovely seeing people’s reactions when they first walk in.

We have our own private beach access from steps from the property. I like private coves – sunbathing, swimming and hanging out on my deserted beach that nobody can get to but me. It has an overhanging tree that I sit under, negating the need for a sun umbrella. All I have to do is take my towel and a book. I sunbathe down there under the dappled light of the Pohutukawa lacey leaves, and I get my Vitamin D needs met in the most sublime way possible. The sea cleanses me, I feel refreshed, regenerated, and invigorated after a swim in total privacy.

Back at the house, it’s like living in an outdoor room. The walls are made of windows, and they can all slide back so that you’ve simply got a roof over your head. I can wake up in the morning and completely peel back two walls of my bedroom. Last summer it was a really hot summer, and I peeled back all of my doors and slept all night basically outside. The moon and stars joined me in my bedroom. Upon waking, I make a coffee on my espresso machine and jump back into bed to sip and ponder the day ahead. Birdlife just seem to love the lawn right outside my bedroom. Ducks, Oyster Catchers, Pukeko’s (NZ native bird), finches & magpies all seem to believe it’s their property too.

I can light the outdoor fire when I have guests around. I put my favourite music on the outdoor speakers and subject my children to 70’s music which only I know the words to…at first, but now they have begun to sing along.

I sit in my clifftop spa pool and I look down to the rocks below. I’ve silently witnessed Orca, Dolphins, kingfish and more Oyster Catchers just going about their daily business. I have sat there for hours looking at sunsets, looking at star constellations and talking about the meaning of life with whoever might be willing to listen to me. With family, I find the spa pool is the new dinner table. Friends and family gather and talk. My children relax and it is here that I connect with them best. Sometimes I drink my coffee on the spa deck and watch the rocks below in the mornings. I call it the natural anti-depressant deck.

I do the coastal walk nearly every morning. (Ok, I do it 3 times a week when I’m being really well behaved and need to lose weight) It’s beautiful! It’s stunning! It’s the best coastal track in the world! You would think I would do it every day…but sometimes life intervenes. I love that coastal walk; you would not believe what good ideas have manifested while doing that walk! The scenery is spectacular and again, it just forces you to be present.

I rent out my home and I go away, but before I go and before you come, I can tell you all the best spots for just about everything on this island, as I have been a local here for 25 years ... and counting. It’s a minimum stay of 4 nights. 4 nights that I’m pretty sure you will find incredibly memorable. Please stay longer if you can, I think 10 days is the ideal.

A note for Brides and Grooms…

Why not consider the property for your wedding on-the-day preparation? Perfectly located if you are marrying at Mudbrick, you are just minutes’ drive from your venue and the rooms and views provide the most stunning backdrop for bridal party getting-ready photos. There is abundant space to lay out garments and accessories for your photographer, and plenty of all-important natural light for make-up. You could even hold romantic first-look photos here before you set-off to marry your beloved.

The house has 4 bedrooms, and a TV room with 70″ big screen TV for when you want to catch the latest on Netflix.

The Owner’s Retreat accommodates a maximum of 8 guests, and it is available for a minimum of 4 nights (7 night minimum over the festive period 24th December - 3rd January) . A security deposit of $3500 will be required to book, this will be released at the end of the stay once the property has been checked.

This price is all-inclusive of premium linen, towels, spa towels, beach towels, WiFi, and cleaning upon departure.



CONFIRMATION POLICY:

The total accommodation charge is payable within 48 hours of booking.
Check in time is 2pm.
Check out time is 10am.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

50% of the accommodation costs are non-refundable under any circumstances should the booking not proceed.

If cancellation is more than 60 days before check in date 50% of the accommodation cost will be refunded.

If the booking is cancelled within the 60-day period no refund will be given.

Please ensure that you take out travel insurance to protect yourself from sickness or other incidences which may prevent your travel from going ahead.

No refund is given for an early departure.
