Mudbrick Vineyard has won not one, but two Gold medals at the China Wine and Spirits Awards for their 2018 Mudbrick Reserve Chardonnay and the 2018 Mudbrick Reserve Syrah.

The China Wine and Spirits Awards is the largest and most influential wine and spirits competition in China with wines entered from 55 counties and blind tasted by 100 expert judges selected from all areas of the wine industry including importers, distributors, retailers and sommeliers.

“We are incredibly honored to be awarded gold medals for the 2018 Reserve Chardonnay and Syrah. These two wines are a team effort between the vineyard and winery where everyone played their part in producing these fantastic wines’’ says Patrick Newton, Mudbrick’s Winemaker.

Following a Gold medal win for the Reserve Chardonnay 2018 at the Royal Easter Show, to be awarded Gold for both the Reserve Chardonnay 2018 and the Reserve Syrah 2018 at CWSA is a huge achievement for the whole vineyard team; setting the 2019 wine awards season off to a tremendous start. Flying the flag for Waiheke Island wines globally, Mudbrick Vineyard was the only vineyard to win Gold from the Waiheke Island region, making the win all the more momentous.
