Marmalade Cottage

Marmalade Cottage started life in the 1940's as a small yet sturdy workman's cottage situated on Waiheke's eclectic Tahatai Road. Oscar, son of Mudbrick's founder Robyn and Nick Jones, purchased the cottage as his home when he first returned to Waiheke Island to live and run the Mudbrick business. Sun drenched in Oneroa, Oscar and Robyn would often sit outside to enjoy the morning sun sharing freshly baked sourdough with Robyn's favourite homemade Marmalade.

Lovingly renovated in 2025, Marmalade cottage is the perfect stay for those looking for something authentically Waiheke Island in its heritage but with all the modern amenities one needs to have a fantastic stay. A perfect spot for lovers of cute and cosy, Marmalade Cottage suits both couples or small families needing two double beds.

For its location, Marmalade Cottage is situated just a 10-minute walk to the heart of Waiheke’s only village Oneroa. Conveniently it's also only a 3 min drive from the Matiatia Ferry (departing Auckland City) and 5 mins from Mudbrick Vineyard itself. This makes the cottage a perfect choice for those attending a wedding at Mudbrick, or just wanting a quality base to explore the island.

Oneroa Beach is a short 15-minute stroll away and it's just a 10 min walk to the village and bus stops; you won't need a car to enjoy all that Waiheke has to offer. However, the cottage offers two off-street parks if bringing some wheels is part of the plan!

Your friends can join in – the cottage sleeps 4 guests. Two private bedrooms. There's even a spa pool to enjoy a bottle of bubbles after a long day exploring Waiheke Island.

Being an original part of Waiheke's history, the cottage does have a few quirks including a lower-than-usual roof in the lower-level which houses the bathroom and laundry. While it is completely liveable, this will require a few ducks for those taller than 6'2ft.

RATES:

Please check booking calendar below to see the different rates for the different seasons.

A 2-night minimum applies but contact us if you’re looking for a one night stay, we can approve this subject to seasonality.

*24th December – 3rd January – minimum 7-night stay

Public Holiday long weekends – 3-night minimum




CONFIRMATION POLICY:

The total accommodation charge is payable within 48 hours of booking.
Check in time is 2pm.
Check out time is 10am.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

50% of the accommodation costs are non-refundable under any circumstances should the booking not proceed.

If cancellation is more than 60 days before check in date 50% of the accommodation cost will be refunded.

If the booking is cancelled within the 60-day period no refund will be given.

Please ensure that you take out travel insurance to protect yourself from sickness or other incidences which may prevent your travel from going ahead.

No refund is given for an early departure.
