Velvet has always been our most treasured wine. Rich, romantic and full of soul. This year, it’s renamed Robyn’s Velvet in honour of Robyn Skelton, co-founder and visionary behind Mudbrick. Robyn passed in June 2024, leaving behind a legacy of beauty, magic and joy.

Handcrafted from the finest parcels of fruit from our Waiheke Island vineyards, Robyn’s Velvet is a wine for when your heart is full.  She imagined it as a companion to life’s most meaningful moments, savoured by candlelight, beside a fire, maybe even under the stars.

Here’s to Robyn- and to love, in all its forms.

Tasting Note

The 2025 Mudbrick Velvet opens with complex aromas of violets, cassis, dried herbs andcocoa. The palate is concentrated with dark fruits and savoury undertones from subtlety integrated oak. The plush round tannins build structure and provide a platform for a long purefinish.

This wine can be enjoyed upon release but will benefit from careful ageing in a cellar 20 years+
